Hi, We’re planning to walk to the Robinson Rock House ruins in Reedy Creek Park on Friday, April 17th, at 1PM. The ruins are from a stone house built in the late 1700’s. The hike starts from around the Nature Center in Reedy Creek Park, and is about a mile (more or less) on uneven terrain. The paths are well maintained and well marked. To get to the Nature Center, after you enter Reedy Creek Park, go straight (past the first playground.) When you get to the point where you have to go right or left, go right. The Nature Center is at the end of the road. The ruins are a fantastic place for kids to play. They like to climb around on the rocks. There is also an immense fallen tree nearby that’s fun to play on. Along the way there you cross over (or through) a creek once or twice. It’s just a great little hike, and not difficult. My kids were walking it independently by age 4 or 5.  It’s a good one to bring dogs on too.  know it’s a short notice but we just had the idea today, and we wanted to go there once before it got hot and buggy. If people enjoy it maybe we can schedule it again later. I’ve included a few links below about the history of the rock house, in case you or your kids would like to learn a little bit first. http://www.charmeck.org/Departments/Park+and+Rec/_News/Feb/Rock+House+Ruins+Designated+as+National+Historic+Site.htm http://www.cmhpf.org/surveys&rrobinsonrock.htm http://www.panoramio.com/photo/2368368 -Jody jody@jodymace.com
