Please
join us for our first ever MNS Homeschoolers Earth Day on Wednesday,
April 22, at McGuire Nuclear Station’s EnergyExplorium from 10 a.m. – 3
p.m.
This special day will include a visit from My Animal Guy,
environmental educational sessions, a hands-on potted-plant station,
guided Nature Trail walks by environmental educators and other outdoor
activities. Each child will truly understand the importance of Earth
Day after this fun-filled event. Environment worksheets,
EnergyExplorium activity books and parent/teacher guides will also be
provided as take home material for each family, providing an excellent
framework for teaching and learning even after the event concludes.
The morning and afternoon activities, including the My Animal Guy
animal presentations, will be identical, giving everyone the
opportunity to benefit from similar programs.
At
Duke Energy, we recognize the importance of your child’s education. We
also recognize as parents of a home-schooled child, your family
deserves every tool and resource to encourage higher learning.
The
EnergyExplorium at McGuire Nuclear Station, located in Huntersville,
would like to offer a helping hand in expanding your child’s knowledge
of nuclear energy, electricity and the environment. As parents, we will
also include you in this opportunity.
To
ensure we can accommodate all visitors, please call 1-800-777-0003,
option 1, to reserve a space for your group by Monday, April 20, 2009.
Please e-mail for any additional questions, but not to RSVP. Thank you and we look forward to hosting you at MNS Homeschoolers Earth Day 2009.
The
attached flyer provides you with additional information regarding
Homeschoolers Day. We encourage all families who home school their
children to participate in this very educational event.
Please feel free to distribute this e-mail and flyer to those who you feel would benefit from the experience!
