May 15, 2009 – First Annual ENRICH Used Curriculum Sale.  We are VERY excited to offer this even this year and will be putting out more details as they become available.  We’ll have opportunities to sell your stuff as well as to help out.  Location will be Frank Liske Park in the barn and time is 9 a.m to 1 p.m.  This is a Friday.  More details and an official announcement yet to come.

Cabarrus County Home School Association has a prom each year. All home school students are welcome to come. This year the date is Friday May 15th. Our daughter has attended several times and it is so nice. The music is clean and it is VERY well supervised. More information will be forthcoming. I will send it out when I get the specifics.

Cisco in collaboration with CMS is hosting a day-long IT event at Phillip O Berry High School called WIRED: With IT Reignite Education. The purpose of the event is to educate and promote careers in IT.  We are planning a series of educational sessions designed to give students a better idea about the field of Information Technology. The IT sessions will cover the following topics: KNOW IT is a hands on experience about setting up networks, WORK IT is a session on practical knowledge education, certification, and job hunting, GLAM IT is a session that encourages young women to enter into the math and science field in higher education, SPEAK IT targets students soft skills such as public speaking, and YOU , ME and IT is a general session where successful professional discuss their current roles in IT. In addition to the general sessions, Cisco will hold various other activities throughout the day such as a networking competition, scavenger hunt, interactive booths, and a networking lunch. Students from across CMS are welcome to attend as well as homeschoolers. We aim to have 100 active and engaged students participating in the event.
